Mr. Antonino Bossolo from Italy will compete in the K44 Male -61kg division in the 6th WTF World Para-Taekwondo Championships Samsun.
WTF manged to get an interview with Mr. Bossolo who earned a bronze medal at last year's 5th WTF World Para-Taekwondo Championships Moscow.
How did you feel when you heard that para-taekwondo will be included at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games?
Bossolo: It was a dream come true. I was waiting for the opportunity to realize my Paralympic dream.
What are you hoping to achieve at this year's 6th World Para-Taekwondo Championships in Samsun?
Bossolo: I will not talk in advance ... but will give my best to stand on the podium ... I will always be competitive and ready for anything. I believe that the 6th WTF World Para-Taekwondo Championships Samsun will be an unforgettable experience as last year's championships in Moscow.
How have you prepared yourself for this year's World Championships?
Bossolo: It has been a tough year and challenging for me and innovative.
Together with my coach, Giovanni Lo Dolce, and all the staff of the Italian national team we have experimented with training for para-taekwondo. A special thanks to coach Diego Grisoli, master Youn and all the guys in the Italian national team and my training partners in my club. In addition I have participated in several races to keep me in shape.
What impact do you think the introduction of world rankings has had on the sport?
Bossolo: Well! Ranking forces you to keep up with everyone. You cannot give up!
What advice would you give to young people out there with impairments who are thinking about taking up para-taekwondo?
Bossolo: Chase your dreams!
