The 1st European Deaf Martials Arts Championships in Armenia

The 1st European Deaf Martials Arts Championships in ArmeniaThe 1st European Deaf Martials Arts Championships (Judo, Karate, Taekwondo) are being hold at the House of Culture and Sport of the Deaf in Armenia, Yerevan. Many European countries took part in it. 

The International Committee of Sport for the Deaf (ICSD) has in its calendar the 1st EDSO European Deaf Martials Arts Championships which includes judo, karate and taekwondo championships.

The European Championship is attended by 250 participants from Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Switzerland, Turkey, and Ukraine. 

On October 27, 2015 the karate tournament took place and the next day October 28, 2015 the taekwondo athletes competed. On October 30, 2015 the judoists competed.

Both taekwono disciplines: poomsae and kyorugi were presented at taekwondo championships in Armenia this year. 

“This Championship will be an experience for us for holding international tournaments. Now we know that can organize such events”, told the Vice-President of Armenian Taekwondo Federation, Vardan Ghahramanyan. 

Armenian Taekwondo Federation welcomed in Yerevan European taekwondo national teams from: Croatia, Greece, Latvia, Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine.
