Wednesday, February 11, 2015, Toronto, ON: Taekwondo Canada is preparing to welcome the world to Toronto for the 2015 Canada Open. The 3 day international tournament hosts Canadian and international star athletes as they compete for important ranking points toward their seeding at the World Championships.

Every day of the event promises high-octane excitement with athletes from 27 countries around the world competing in Sparring, Poomsae and Para disciplines.
Adding to the excitement, as the first ever Para sanctioned open by the World Taekwondo Federation, this year’s open offers athletes participating in the 2015 Para Canada Open accumulate points toward their world ranking for the next World Para Championships.
On the tails of the announcement that Para Taekwondo is officially included in the Paralympic Games, Taekwondo Canada is excited to invite Canadian Paralympic athletes to take advantage of the formal classification at the Open giving them the opportunity to attend other future para-taekwondo events – including the 2020 Paralympic Games.
